Finally, inside the A4000 Power Tower MK-II !! It's a bit of a jumble with all the power wires and ribbon cables. Anyway, at top-left you can see the power supply. Below that are the 2 Gig and 4 Gig IDE hard drives. In the middle of the case is an extra fan that I added. It provides additional cooling for the CyberVision PPC video card by blowing directly on the Permedia2 chip and surrounding area. This effectively keeps the CyberStorm MK-III accelerator and its RAM cool, too. To the right of the extra fan, though hidden in the mounting area, is the IBM 18 Gig UW-SCSI-3 hard drive. The two Ariadne-II cards and the GVP I/O Extender are "behind/under" the extra fan. The ribbon cables from the GVP I/O Extender card are for the MIDI and second serial ports. I have a second GVP I/O Extender card installed, but it is not shown here because the picture is old. Finally, in the extreme lower-right of the case, is the rechargeable battery for the A4000 motherboard clock. It's double-side taped and connected to the motherboard by wires. That serves two purposes: 1) Keeps it away from the motherboard when it starts corroding, and 2) allows for ease of changing it when replacement is required.
